Facebook Event

As a trio, Amplidyne Effect performs alongside Vladimir Martinovski (tambura, kaval, percussion) and Sonja Dimitrioska (flute), creating a unique sonic fusion that navigates through experimental and ambient soundscapes.
At the concert, the trio will bring to life the musical landscapes from the album Moribund Neighborhoods, released under the Belgian label Transonic Records. This album is a collection of compositions recorded at home or on-site during the quarantine period between 2020 and 2022. Each piece represents a microcosm drawn from improvised sessions, where synthesizers, guitars, and samples blend into ambient sounds that travel through various constellations. The album reflects the small struggles of life amid the decay of old neighborhoods and the (post-)COVID collapse in Macedonia and the wider Balkans, while also opening windows to a more sensitive and brighter world.
The Belgian media outlet TURBULENCES VIDÉO described Moribund Neighborhoods as:
“An organic sonic atmosphere, balanced between psychedelic ambient and a cinematic experience, inspired by the concrete aesthetics of Skopje. The listener is invited into a gentle immersion guided by crystalline guitar lines and electronic textures. As a whole, Amplidyne Effect succeeds in transforming uncertainty into an audiovisual ‘slow trip’ experience that absorbs the listener into its world.”
This album and concert are dedicated to Philip Frank, the director of Transonic Records, who passed away in January this year.
